Apologia Patriarchae et Synodi ad Imperatorem Michaelem Palaeologum Auteur 0010 A first redaction of this text was written in June 1273 by Iob Iasites, on behalf of the anti-unionist faction, as a reply to the unionist Tomos presented by emperor Michael VIII to patriarch Joseph I and the synod. The redaction transmitted by the manuscripts is a later rewriting, as it contains a reference to the marriage between Anna Palaiologina and Michael II of Epirus (1278).

Confessio Fidei 0050 Profession of faith signed by patriarch Joseph I to reiterate his aversion to the union of Lyon. According to Laurent and Darrouzès (1976) this document should be dated to the last months of 1274, right after the return of the ambassadors from the second council of Lyon, or some time around the resignation of Joseph I, in January 1275.
