Résumé :
<br>This paper examines the 26 letters comprising the correspondence between Libanius of Antioch and Basil of Caesarea. Treating the epistolary exchange as apocryphal based on previous works, it seeks to illuminate the context of its production. Specifically, the study corroborates Pouchet’s hypothesis regarding the Cappadocian origin of the letters by analyzing the manuscripts used by Förster, editor of Libanius’s works, for the constitutio textus.
Keywords : Libanius, Basil, apocryphal epistles, Cappadocia
