Résumé :
This paper gives the first critical edition of an anonymous etymologicon (περὶ ἐτυμολογίας). The relationship between this text and some of the main Byzantine etymologica, such as Orion and the Etymologicum Gudianum, is investigated. The analysis of this relationship makes it possible to discuss K. Alpers’s argument for an earlier date for the Gudianum. Once again, South Italy turns out to be a pivotal place for the transmission and dissemination of grammatical and lexicog raphical texts written in Greek in the Byzantine age.
