Résumé :

The so-called Anonymus Coislinianus commentary on Aristotle’s De interpretatione is a commentary which has neither been edited yet nor aroused keener interest of scholars during the last 120 years, whereas it was still part of the discussions about the commentaries on De interpretatione in the 19th century. This recent scholarly neglect of the Anonymus Coislinianus stands in no relation to the historic significance of the commentary for the study of Aristotle’s Organon within Byzantine circles. This article takes a general glance at the hitherto unstudied textual tradition of this commentary in manuscripts of the Terra d’Otranto (and Epiros) dating from the 12th to the 15th century. Its mere usage within the exegesis of De interpretatione displays the significance which was attributed to this commentary by Byzantine scholarship in Southern Italy and Epiros. In particular, the article deals with a set of scholia which is jointly found in the codd. Par. gr. 1973, Laur. Plut. 71,35, and Oxon. Magd. Coll. gr. 15 and which originates from the Anonymus Coislinianus commentary. It will be argued that the text of the Anonymus was specifically revised for this collection of scholia against the backdrop of an erudite scholarship in the Terra d’Otranto (and Epiros). Thus, the scholia can serve as an example of a conscious reworking of parts of this commentary for a collection of scholia.
