From Paris. gr. 2144 containing works of, or related to, Hippocrates, M. publishes, translates and comments on the text of the verses that surround the famous portraits of Hippocrates and the Megas Doux Alexios Apokaukos. Apokaukos probably commissioned the portraits and asked someone to compose suitable verses in praise of Hippokrates as if they were voiced by himself. [Karpozilos]
