Obiettivo del presente saggio è la recensione aggiornata dei testi romanzi in caratteri greci prodotti tra XIII e XVI secolo nell’area estrema dell’Italia meridionale (Calabria, Salento e Sicilia nord-orientale), ‘roccaforte’ della cultura greca in età medievale : un contesto bilingue, presso il quale risulta del tutto normale l’adozione di sistemi grafici diversi da quello latino per la redazione di testi in volgare. Il repertorio è costituito da un insieme di testi di genere diverso, per la maggior parte già noti agli studiosi, anche se talvolta stampati in sedi editoriali di difficile reperimento, altri qui censiti per la prima volta, altri ancora censiti ma inediti o parzialmente editi. This essay provides an updated review of Romance texts in Greek handwriting produced between the thirteenth and sixteenth century in southern Italy (Calabria, Salento, and north-eastern Sicily), the “strong-hold” of Greek culture in the Middle Ages. Given the bilingualism of this region, the adoption of graphetic systems other than the Latin alphabet for writing texts in the vernacular is of course normal. The corpus is made up of diverse kinds of texts, most of them well known to scholars, although in some cases they have been printed in venues that are difficult to find ; other texts included here are surveyed for first time, and others still have been included in other unpublished censuses or others that have been only partially edited.
