Résumé :

This contribution focuses on the now lost Constantinopolitan church of the Holy Apostles. In the first section it examines the modern studies concerning its architectural history and their assumptions, in the light of the major ancient sources referring to it (Procopius of Caesarea, Constantine the Rhodian). In the second section it reconsiders the verse Ekphrasis composed by Constantine the Rhodian in the 10th century and offers a detailed commentary of its rhetorical structure, metaphorical imagery and cultural framework of reference.
