Résumé :

François Olivier de Fontenay’s Greek manuscripts. This article is the detailed development of a chapter of my thesis defended at the Sorbonne in 2022 as part of the e.p.h.e. (p.s.l.). For the first time a collection of Greek manuscripts is attributed to an ignored collector, François Olivier de Fontenay (1573(?)-1628) More than ninety manuscripts are thus described. This collection arrived in the early seventeenth century in the Jesuit College of Clermont (Paris), it was then bought by Gérard Meerman (1722-1771), then was dispersed mainly in the hands of Thomas Phillipps (1792-1872). The manuscripts are preserved in different Institutions in the world. The probable origins of this ensemble were identified mainly by Annaclara Cataldi Palau, from Ludivico Beccadelli, Dr. José Micón, to Cardinal François de La Rochefoucauld (1558-1645) and his tutor Jean Courtier (circa 1545- post 1583).
