Riassumo: Questo articolo tratta del Carm. 80 di Giovanni Mauropode, composto per la raffigurazione di un’incoronazione celeste nel Monastero di Sostenio. Nella poesia, Mauropode non rivela i nomi degli imperatori, chiamandoli solamente con il temine δεσπόται. Parole chiave: Sostenio, Giovanni Mauropode, epigrammi bizantini Abstract: This paper deals with Poem 80 by John Mauropous, written for the depiction of a heavenly coronation in the Monastery of Sosthenion. In this poem, Mauropous does not reveal the names of the emperors, but he simply calls them δεσπόται.
